If your phone is in your pants pocket and you accidentally press a button, your leg has an electric field and is touching the phone and is near enough to constitute a touch. So I don't see the "swipe" going away, though it would be really nice to have widgets or apps be able to put more useful info on the lock screen.Glenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14661650090485723755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8847609613162792164.post-36695810014282953242011-06-05T05:00:07.019-07:002011-06-05T05:00:07.019-07:00Temikus - the home screen can shut down exactly li...Temikus - the home screen can shut down exactly like the lockscreen does after a few seconds, unless you touch it, instead of the swipe.

Ant - it could be configurable, but that's not apple's style. If shown perfectly on an iPhone the larger the widget gets the bigger the margin around the edge when shown on an iPad. I guess it would have to be a UI feature alone, while the widgets only know about height/width and resize to fit.Anthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004628279847344840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8847609613162792164.post-49527774093858303822011-06-05T03:02:23.192-07:002011-06-05T03:02:23.192-07:00Lock screen is needed so the iPhone won't wast...Lock screen is needed so the iPhone won't waste the battery and/or traffic. It's easy to push the power or even the home button in your pocket. Imagine that it happens without a lockscreen - the iphone will wait for user interaction with brightly lit screen for a far longer time wasting the battery, and if something happens to be on it could waste even more battery and a lot of traffic.Temikushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04086821601454624164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8847609613162792164.post-64782270253157250902011-06-05T01:39:42.097-07:002011-06-05T01:39:42.097-07:00to martin - "it doesn't really fit with t...to martin - "it doesn't really fit with the minimalistic philosophy of Apple!"
very right!!!Odedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00914055567862922187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8847609613162792164.post-90927810060668835842011-06-05T01:05:40.222-07:002011-06-05T01:05:40.222-07:00I like the "lock screen is bye bye" idea...I like the "lock screen is bye bye" idea :) That's true that it doesn't really make sense to push the home button then do a slide to unlock. When I think about it, it doesn't really fit with the minimalistic philosophy of Apple!

I am dying to have something like CloudTunes, I am really looking forward this one!Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08590638318229806421noreply@blogger.com
